Portraits // Bundled Ben // Kalamazoo, Michigan

I needed to do some test shooting for an upcoming photo shoot and my lovely husband was kind enough to bundle up,  head outdoors, and brave the winter snow to stand in front of the camera. Encore Magazine / December 2012 / Kalamazoo, Michigan

I recently became the photographer for Encore Magazine. I have had the most incredible time working with Marie Lee and Maria Majeski creating Decembers issue! My current transformation from sports photographer to portrait photographer has been a learning experience. Everyone has been so patient sitting for me and letting me experiment with different ideas and lighting. Thanks so much to Joel Mabus and Red Tail Ring's Michael Beauchamp and Laurel Premo for the fantastic music played during the shoot at Black Owl. Rock Bartley for the awesome solo concert in a field. Richard Bell of the Kalamazoo Astronomical Society for walking into a completely dark room and letting me blind you with my strobes. Also a huge thank you to the staff of the Kalamazoo Valley Museum for all their help making the stars!  To Jim Flora and his fantastic Chef at the Beer Exchange for creating an environment where we could make some great pictures, eat some great food, and drink a Red Eye!  I have included some outtakes from the shoots in the post so a little extra content.
